First Frugal Friday of February 2026

Welcome to Frugal Friday

Each Friday here at Frugal Workshop, I love sharing the frugal wins, quiet savings, and simple strategies that helped us stretch our budget over the past seven days. It’s a gentle look back at the small things that make a big difference.

My Frugal Week

It snowed here on Friday evening and a lot of the day on Saturday and it was very cold and twelve degrees on Sunday morning. We stayed home and off the roads as the back roads can be hazardous as they are not treated.

On Tuesday Bailey and I went to Kroger to do our money grocery shopping. We stocked up on essentials we needed and are stocked up for the month.

I earned $50 on PayPal this week from scanning products I purchase into NCP.

On Saturday Bailey and I played board games. One of the games we played was Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Battle game. We played it in December and made some changes to make it better to play.

Bailey took a photo of the game slip, had two of them printed and laminated at Staples, and now we can use dry erase markers on them every time we play the game. It's bigger than the game slip that came with the game, so easier to read and keep track.

How was your week?

Thank you for dropping by my frugal blog, you are always welcome here.

We would love to hear all about your week in the comment section.

  1. Dear Belinda, I love ❤️ board games ๐ŸŽฒ
I am unfamiliar with the one you have pictured here. I like Monopoly, Scrabble and Win, Lose or Draw.
Even though I have no talent in art or sketches, I still like the game find it enjoyable.
It is very cold ๐Ÿฅถ here in Montreal today.
-18 Celsius I think and tonight may be -25 Celsius.
I am getting laundry, cleaning and organizing done in my apartment.
Thank you so much for, dear friend ๐Ÿงก

    1. Thank you Linda, we love board games too. Brrrr…it is cold up your way, isn’t it? It’s 43 degrees F here right now with a cold wind. I’m staying in where it’s warm. ๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. The laminated sheet was really neat. I’m glad we did that and Staples is very affordable, less than $3 to print and laminate.

  3. That was clever for the scoring. I should do that for Yahtzee.

  5. Great idea for the game sheet! I should do that for Yahtzee. That way I could enlarge it (for my poor eyesight) and then be able to reuse it. Genius!

  8. Great idea with enlarging the game slip. Mi will have to remember that. I have trouble with games since I developed my wet AMD.

    1. Yes, I struggled with games too, so if we can do something to make it easier it does help.

  9. It's gotten warmer here this week, and although there's still a bit of snow left, the snowdrops are already blooming and the birds are singing like it's spring.
We're playing Ludo and Yahtzee. Laminating the Yahtzee score sheets would be a good idea, too.

  10. Sounds like a good week, and I'm glad that you all didn't lose power and were able to stay home during the worst of the weather. It has been some winter. We have had record breaking cold, and ice/snow has stuck around for weeks. Looking forward to warmer weather this week. Love the tip for getting the game slip printed and laminated. What is your favorite game?
Hope you have a great week.

    1. Thank you, Kathy. I think my favorite one is this cat games we played called Cat Lady. We both rated it a 5, which is our highest score. We keep track and take notes which makes it easy to pick one we want to play.

  11. I have not been feeling the best, but today I am just a tad better. I really believe the few days rest from doing as little as possible helped.
We usually play board games and card games when we go on holiday. Must remember to take our cribbage board with us.

    God bless.
