On Wednesday I cut up a cantaloupe and a golden honeydew melon to have fresh fruit on hand. We also have peaches from the local peach orchard.
I have a raccoon getting into the garbage this week, so I went ahead and drove the garbage and peelings to the garbage dumpster, so he wouldn’t get into it again. He even knocked down both of my hummingbird feeders and destroyed them getting the nectar out. 😢
In this episode we are exploring how to really survive, in a big way, on $1 a meal, that's $3 a day, and $21 for an entire week. I set out to figure out how it would be possible for someone to really eat, not only cheap, but still make amazing food and feel satisfied.
Hi Belinda
ReplyDeleteI tried to download the Make Do and Mend but the link said the page did not exist. Sorry you had to visit the hospital! I hope you are feeling better soon.
Bun
Thank you, Bun. And thank you for letting me know about the link too. I’ll check it out and see if I can fix that.
DeleteI was able to fix the link and it’s working for me now and I hope it works for you too. Thank you for letting me know.
DeleteIt works! Thank you so much for these links. Continue to feel well. Bun
DeleteOh, I'm so glad it worked for you. And thank you, I feel so much better today. I hope you are having a lovely Sunday. :)
DeleteWell Belinda, I’m so sorry you were sick again. I’m glad you on the other side of it now! That must have been an ordeal for you. That’s a lot of cottage cheese!! Was she selling to Walmart? I love to lay in the pool and listen to the birds. The app sounds neat!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Penny. I’m not sure about the cottage cheese, but that makes sense. I’ve been wondering myself.
DeleteOh my, Belinda. I'm sorry and hope you are now comfortable. I'm glad you have Bailey with you and that you paid attention to how you were feeling and got care. Be kind to yourself as you're so kind to others. Filling the pantry was such a good thing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Sam. I feel so much better, and could really tell when the fever finally broke.
DeleteSorry to hear about your hospital stay. Kidney stones suck. The cottage cheese haul was fortunate. I went to the last of the Rite Aid clearence sales in my area and got face wash and moisturizer for less than 8 dollars. It's the end of an era.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy. I miss our Rite Aids so much, they were just the best little drug stores. They made their own store brand version of calamine lotion that worked so great, it was better than any of the name brand stuff.
DeleteI'm so sorry you had to go back to the hospital, and I'm really glad you are out now & hopefully feeling better. That is such a huge win on the cottage cheese, and yes, I'm also really curious what this woman was waiting for? Maybe it was an error in an order, and Walmart was supposed to pick it back up? I can't imagine them buying products from individuals vs farms, factories, etc, but what do I know?
ReplyDeleteWe see a ton of birds & don't know what they are, so I will definitely try that app! - Hawaii Planner
Thank you! I don't know what was behind the cottage cheese and will probably never know. We were certainly blessed by whatever caused it. I hope you enjoy the app, I know I sure have.
DeleteSo sorry you had a hospital visit. Dang girl, I hope you are on the right side of healthy now!
ReplyDeleteThose racoons are pretty - but the can sure be pests. I dealt with one this week too.
Nice score on the cottage cheese.
Thank you, Cheryl. I slept so well last night in my own bed with my own pillows, that right there will make you healthier. LOL
DeleteSo glad you are back home, and I hope the kidney stone won't give you any more troubles. I hope you are able to get some rest as I know it is impossible to sleep in the hospital. There's no place like home...
ReplyDeleteGreat deal on the cottage cheese! I'm sure you will find lots of ways to use it. Sorry about the raccoon damage. We have lots of critters in our woods; I saw a mama deer and two tiny fawns yesterday.<3 My husband saw a bear print on our trash can this week which spooked me. I won't be taking trash out at dusk anymore. ;)
Hope you have a great week, and I hope you are feeling better.
Kathy
Thank you so much, Kathy. They don't know if I passed the stone or not, but will figure it out when its removed at the end of this week. I slept so well last night in my own bed with my own pillows. We are such creatures of habit. LOL
DeleteYou'll definitely want to be careful going out after dusk with trash. Those bears are a little bit crazy when they are hungry. We have had trash cans, years ago, with bear claw gashes in the garbage can lids from them. We keep the trash in a shed now, so that can't happen anymore.
Thanks so much, I am feeling so much better and I hope you have a great week too!
I am so sorry you had an infection and had to be hospitalized. Fingers crossed the stone was passed.
ReplyDeleteI need to get the bird song app. I have a lot of song birds in the yars and can recognize some but yesterday there was a bird symphony going on and I could not figure who some of them came from.
Thank you, Anne, I hope it passed too. I'll find out towards the end of the week. You will really like the app as it works quickly. :)
DeleteWell, a return trip to the hospital is no fun! Glad you are feeling better and hope that is the end of that mess. Kidney stones are nasty little boogers!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Wendi. I am feeling so much better.
DeleteWhat a great deal on the cottage cheese. I hope that you feel better very soon. Going to check out a few of those links you shared.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you Jackie!
