In the picture above you can see several of the hard goods I picked up such as a tea cup & saucer, a pillowcase kit, brand new Pioneer Women place mats, a paper towel holder, a Matilda Jane water bottle, a metal food processor, a pink rug, several spurtles, storage jar, and Swiffer dry wipes.
These were just a few of the things I picked up and I did get more things that didn’t make it into the picture. Things like a crossbody bag, more Keen shoes, fabric, basket, several pieces of jewelry and plenty of clothes. I just about filled my Hulken bag with clothing.
They had big ticket items too, but I didn’t look at those items as I was too busy looking at the fun stuff. They had a lot of furniture, bed clothes, pillows, and Christmas stuff, which I didn’t look at either as I was busy looking at things I enjoy.
The crowd was a big one as you can imagine when everything is free, but was not overwhelming. Items did get picked up quickly and by the time we left was very much picked over. I thanked several of the volunteers on my way out for hosting such a terrific event in our community where people could get things they needed and not have to pay anything.
It was a lot of fun, held indoors in the air conditioning, which was a plus. It was raining outside, so there weren't many yard sales otherwise. Bailey picked up several things for herself as well and had just as much fun as I did.

How wonderful -- and a generous gesture by the church. You found wonderful things which I am sure were intended to land with someone who could appreciate them. So many sales are over-priced and I wonder if they really want to move their merchandise.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I was really happy with what I picked up today. And yes, it was so generous of the church to do this. I love making donations to places that’ll do this to help people rather than charging people for items they get from donations.
DeleteAnd, I agree that some sellers price their stuff way too high for yard sales. I can see selling at those prices at a consignment sale, but not yard sales. I want to see yard sale prices at yard sales.
I was always of the notion that I want to declutter when I have a yard sale, so I price accordingly. If I want to make money, I would sell them online on places like eBay or Poshmark.
What a wonderful event. i have never been to a completely free event like that. Nice you got to attend and find!
ReplyDeleteSounds fun!!
ReplyDeleteYou found some great treasures! Love the goodies.
