Fourth Frugal Friday of August 2022
Welcome to Friday!
My Frugal Week
My goodness, here we are at the end of another week. I don’t know about you, but it seems like the days are just flying by lately.
Our electricity went off last Friday due to a truck accident on the road where we live. It took about five hours for them to have the power restored. I had soapy water in the sink from dishes and I was glad since we have no water when the power goes out.
We didn’t go to any yard sales last week as the weather didn’t cooperate. Yard sales have not been as good here as in previous years, but that does happen some years.
I had to take a trip to Chattanooga on Thursday and passed by one yard sale, but didn’t stop as they didn’t have any clothes.
Tonight is one of Bailey’s book club meetings and then tomorrow she starts taking stuff to drop off at the consignment sale. We ended up with about two car loads full of stuff and it is so nice to see all that new space opening up in the house.
Saving Money In My Frugal Kitchen
This week I turned to some meals I had in the freezer in order to use up what we have in there. We didn’t buy any groceries this week instead making so with what we have on hand here. It’s been a good low cost week here for that reason.
Meals This Week
Friday: Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes, Broccoli.
Saturday: BBQ, Fried Okra, Potatoes with Peas, and Baked Pickles.
Sunday : Teriyaki Chicken (from freezer), Rice and Mixed Vegetables, Butternut Squash.
Monday: Fluffy Baked Omelet, Rice and Mixed Vegetables.
Tuesday: Croissant Pizza
Wednesday: Chicken Fajitas, Sautéed Onions & Peppers, Pinto Beans.
Thursday: Chicken Tenders, Baked Potatoes, Steamed Broccoli.
Thank you for dropping by my frugal blog, you are always welcome here. How was your week? Any frugal wins to tell us about? We would love to hear all about your week in the comment section.

Tell me more about the croissant pizza! Sounds really interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt’s easy as pie. We use a package of croissants for the crust instead of pizza crust. It’s very good.
DeleteI wonder if people held off buying stuff, then with Covid and staying home, purged so much last year. I'm still keeping my eyes open for shelving for office, and patio/ porch/ deck stuff for my daughter. Your meals sound scrumptious. I'm doing vegan chili for tonight, some to save for freezer, with hot dogs.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking the same thing, Sam. That people have already purged what they need3d to purge while they were at home the last two years. Your dinner sounds delicious!
DeleteI'm going to try your fluffy baked omelet. Great job on not spending money this past week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vickie.
DeleteGood luck with the consignment sale! Hope it does well.
ReplyDeleteYour meals sound so good! Great job making do...I need to get better at that.
Have a great weekend.
Thank you, Kathy. I hope you had a great weekend. We’ve been busy with the sale this week, but doing well and hope you are too.
DeleteNothing in and lots out - good for you!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a nice low key week.
Thank you, Cheryl.
DeleteHow wonderful that you got room for new items and lots to take to the sale. Hope you do well. The croissant pizza sounds very interesting.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you so much, Jackie.
DeleteI have not seen many yard sales on weekends because it rains or the forecast is for rain. Well, I attribute that to the lack of sales.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! We have had a lot of rain here this year too.
DeleteThere are fewer yard sales here as well. I thought it was because of rainy weather.
ReplyDeleteYes, that has had a lot to do with it here too, Nil.
