What We Ate This Week
Sunday:
Smoked Sausage
Mac & Cheese
Mashed Potatoes
Carrots
Mixed Vegetables
Monday:
Chicken Pot Pie - I took the leftover vegetables from Sunday's dinner and added them to the chicken pot pie, so no wasting of food, which saves us money.
Tuesday:
Dinner Out
Wednesday:
Roasted Potatoes & Roasted Carrots
Rice & Cheese
Green Beans & Onions
Red Peppers
Clementines
Thursday:
15 Bean Cajun Beans
Cheesy Corn
I also served this with the green beans with onions that were left from Wednesday night's dinner to avoid food waste.
I also made some Macaroni and Cheese for lunches and on Friday & Saturday. I don't use the inexpensive mac and cheese from a box, but make my own from scratch using pasta, which was bought on sale for 49¢, American cheese, butter, and milk.
Friday:
There was a choice for dinner tonight. Either Macaroni and Cheese or Pizza. Publix has the Tombstone pizzas on sale, so my dd picked one up for $2.00.
Saturday:
Salisbury Steak
Mashed Potatoes
Green Peas
Apple Sauce

ReplyDeleteThank you, Jan. It's one of our favorite meals here.
DeleteChicken every Sunday at Grandmom's home. Little one that I was, I accompanied Grandpop to the chopping log to watch. Then into Grandmom's kitchen, where her largest pot of boiling water waited on the stove. When the chicken feathers were ready, we plucked the feathers, and Grandmom prepared our large, Sunday, roasted chicken. Chicken pot pie in a casserole every week, as well as meals every way Grandmom could use the entire chicken.
ReplyDeleteYour grandmother knew how to stretch things to make them last. Such great lessons learned at the feet of your grandparents. How wonderful, Anna.
DeleteEverything looks great.
