My Frugal Week

Thanks to a sale at Walgreen's and several valuable coupons, we are now stocked up on 15 bottles of Purex laundry detergent with Clorox. 

My daughter did this deal for us and combined coupons from Coupons.com, which also reset, along with Walgreen's reward points. She used $10 worth of her Walgreen's reward points, so the majority of the laundry detergent was free to us. 

The sale is going on through Sunday. 

There are several sales going on this week, which I hope to take advantage of, which include:

Aldi
Eggs 69¢ (limit 4)
Red Onions 99¢ (2 lb. bag)

Publix
Raisin Bran B1G1F + doubled coupon - $1.45 box

Piggly Wiggly
Ground Beef $1.99/lb. (wow!)

Kroger
Milk - 1/2 gallon - $1.00

Wednesday

Today is my first day of Summer Break. We have 75 days until school starts again in August. I have made myself a Summer-To-Do-List of things I want to accomplish this summer. I've already been working on this list this morning.  

We started the day by making breakfast. I cut up the watermelon and cantaloupe we bought this week and made some diced, oven baked potatoes to go along with them. Afterwards, I washed all the dishes and started gathering the garbage together. 

My older car has been out of commision for a few weeks as my BIL was working on it, so finally out of desperation, I made several phone calls and finally found someone to come and pick up this load of garbage, which to me is money well spent. My BIL called last night to say the car was ready, so we will  be picking it up soon and will be able to haul the garbage off ourselves again after today. 

On Monday, my daughter and I ventured out on the Memorial Day holiday to get in on a few coupon deals. 

One of them was the Nivea body wash (which I love!) from Target. Using coupons we printed online, coupons for Nivea printing as we bought them (therefore combining a manufacturer coupon with a Target coupon), and a $5 Target card when you bought four, we were able to buy 12 bottles of Nivea body wash for 74¢ each.  Sweet!

The next deal we went for was a Purex deal from Walgreens. We bought eight packages of 18 count Purex packs (2 were bottles) for 44¢ each using coupons we printed online. 

Again, I use Couponaholic.net to print my coupons. 

Needless to say, we are stocked up on these items for a long time.  :)

I've already got laundry going this morning, and have dinner in the crockpot cooking as well. I put some boneless country pork ribs along with some barbeque sauce in there. Sides are yet to be determined.

My Best Coupon Deals this Week

Today I bought two Jack's pizzas from Walgreen's. There is a $1.00 off coupon online that I printed and they were on sale priced at 2 for $5.00. 

When we bought them, the register printed out a coupon for $1.00 off anything at Walgreen's as a thank you for buying the Jack's pizza, so in the end I paid $1.50 per pizza.

Our local Publix has a coupon right now for $3.00 off the purchase of two Skintimate products. The coupon booklet can be found in the front of the store. There are actually two coupon booklets at the front of the store, one for food and one for the pharmacy. This one is located in the booklet for the pharmacy. I regularly purchase this for my daughter at Walmart for $2.64, while at Publix, they are $2.99 each.  With the coupon each one was $1.50, so a savings of $2.28 for something she uses regularly. 

My family eats Club Crackers like they are going out of style and I normally pay $2.50 per box for these, although the Great Value knockoff brand at Walmart for $1.78 tastes exactly like these. 

Anyway, they are on sale this week at Walgreen's priced at 2 for $4.00 and we had two $1.00 off coupons. I purchased these four boxes and ended up paying $1.50 per box. 

My fourth good deal was Hormel Chili from Bi-Lo, where it was on sale for buy one get one free. The chili rang up for $15.92 and then $8.00 was taken off immediately for using my Bi-Lo bonus card. I also had four coupons, (two manufacturers, one Target and one Publix) all for 55¢ off each, which Bi-Lo accepted and doubled. So, in the end I paid $3.52 for 8 cans of chili, which worked out to 44¢ per can. 

My last good deal of the week also comes from Bi-Lo. They have Angel Soft tissues for $1.59 per box and I had six coupons for 50¢ off, which were doubled. So, I ended up paying 59¢ for each box of tissues.
