Life is short,
And we do not have much time
to gladden the hearts of those who
make the journey with us.
So… be swift to love,
and make haste to be kind.

You found clothes! You are doing great! Love that.
ReplyDeleteI love sewing too-learned from myself and sisters. So I'm probably doing it wrong! have a great weekend
LOL, Vickie. I'm sue you are not doing it wrong. Sisters can be great teachers. I hope you also have a great weekend.
DeleteIt sounds like you and Bailey make a great team. You are very fortunate. "New" clothes are always nice! I love doing laundry, but I can see how a lot of new inventory might be overwhelming. I would have still loved it : ) Once as my sister and I were leaving a thrift shop, we saw a volunteer tossing a buggy full of stuff in the dumpster. I commented I liked the colors of a throw and my sister said well go ask if you can have it. Lol I'd never had the nerve without her prompting. The guy kindly let me take it and showed me several more blankets that my sister and I got for cat and dog bedding. The throw washed up beautifully and has a tag showing it was quilted by a lady in our town. I just love it! Such a beautiful treasure and it almost went to the landfill.
ReplyDeleteWe are having our Christmas with our son and family this weekend. They spend Christmas with dil's family which is nice. We are fortunate to live close and have them the rest of the time. Since our son is an only child it makes me happy that he married into a large family that we love. I am happy with the gifts I've purchased, most were on sale. I'm still stumped by what to get the teen granddaughter. Everyone I ask says money or gift cards so unless I have a great idea pop up that's what she will get. I do have have a few minor gifts for her.
Belinda I hope you and Bailey have a wonderful weekend! Sky
Oh, y gosh! That is so great that he let you have those blankets! We've asked like that before and were turned down, so I think it's great that you got to keep those. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family this weekend You are very fortunate to live close by them. That is how I feel about Bailey being so close to me. If she moves I will have to follow her. LOL
DeleteWe hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Cute Math problem!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa. I'll be sure to tell my friend. She will like that.
DeleteI love the quote at the start of your blog.
ReplyDeleteGood for you with the new to you clothes! Sometimes a wardrobe change is the perfect medicine for a fresh outlook on life.
Thank you, Anne. Definitely agree with you on the wardrobe change giving us a fresh look. :)
DeleteSounds like a great week. It is amazing that many do not know there is a proper way to sew a button! I learned that too - and still do it the same way.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Thank you, Cheryl. It is amazing how many do not know how to sew on a button! Life if funny that way. I hope you also have a great weekend.
DeleteLove the quote! I used to practice random acts of kindness back in the day. I think the world would be a happier place if people were kinder.
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the cleaning, decorating and presents.
I went to Food City this morning for the sausage deal too along with a few other specials. I also did the buy $50 gift card for $35 deal, so I think my shopping is done. I picked up the .99/lb ham at Kroger for our Christmas meal. Feels good to have everything bought and paid for...Now to enjoy the holidays.
Hope you have a great weekend.
Thank you, Kathy. I agree the world would be so much better if people were kinder. I've often witnessed someone's demeanor change just from a small act of kindness. OMG on the sausage deal! What a great price! Did you get the coupons off their webpage? It made them like $1.58 each. I bought 12 of them, I am so excited. LOL
DeleteSwaggerty's is the best! We always have boxes of the patties in the freezer.
ReplyDeleteYes! Swaggerty's is my favorite sausage. Yum!
DeleteLike you I started sewing (and cooking) in Home Economics. We actually started in Grade 7 and I kept taking the class up until Grade 12 when we moved. I loved that class. Sewed lots of clothing, learned how to set a table, how to make a menu, and lots of frugal cooking ideas.
ReplyDeleteGlad you found some new clothing items in the batch of inventory that Bailey got.
God bless.
I loved my Home Ec. classes too, Jackie. I still have recipes we used back then that I use today. I'm sure you do too. How lucky you were to have so many years in it. It's definitely a good thing. :)
DeleteAww, thanks for the shout out. :-) Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for being so sweet! I hope you have a great weekend too. :)
DeleteThat quote is fabulous. You've had a terrific week. May God bless you as you seek his face this Christmas season!
