Yard Sales in 2020

My yard sale bag waited in my office all year to go on adventures again, but quarantine happened. 😒⁣

I’m doing some office rearranging and I still thought I would share what I keep in my yard sale bag. Hopefully by next summer all of this will be long behind us. 🤞🏻⁣

𝘐𝘒𝘌𝘈 𝘉𝘢𝘨𝘴: These are great to have on hand for large rummage sales where it’s not as easy to make a pile for yourself. Also, I keep two in the trunk to throw everything in as I go. ⁣

𝘕𝘰𝘵𝘦𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬: I write down how much I spend as I go. This makes bookkeeping super easy when I get home.⁣

𝘍𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘺 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬: I know, I know, but it’s super convenient! I can count out cash with one hand and hold a bunch of stuff in the other. It also has a pocket for pepper spray and hand sanitizer. 👍🏻⁣

Hat & Sunscreen: ☀️ ⁣

I also keep water, wipes, snack, etc. when yard sale season is active. ⁣

I’m really sad this isn’t happening this year, but I know it’s for the best. Stay home if you can. This won’t last forever. ❤️

  1. Love this! I keep most of the same things too. :) I need to get some of those Ikea bags.

I'm sorry to hear that you don't have any yard sales. I was disappointed that we had such a long lockdown (MI), because there were no yard sales. Things are much better here now and I've been hitting whatever sales I can (yard sales & thrift stores), while things are still good. With the rise in infections, who knows when things will shut down again. Have you tried sourcing from marketplace? It's been a great help to me.

Praying that you all stay safe & healthy.

    1. Yes, she has been sourcing online these days. Hopefully things will get better and there will be a yard sale season next summer. I'm glad things are better in your area, that's great. I hope you stay safe and healthy too, Ms. Goose.

  3. I had planned to make yard sales a bigger part of my life this year-particularly to find interesting clothes and a few items for my children's abodes. I imagine next year there will be a lot more sales if people purged and just set things aside. Maybe.

    1. Oh that would be great, Sam. Since the thrift stores were not accepting donations in the beginning too, that might just be the case. Always hopeful. :)

  4. Good reminders. Hopefully next year will be a good yard sale year. I went to ONE a few doors down this year and that is it.

  5. I saw one yard sale on Saturday. The places we drove should have yielded several dozen as they usually do. I miss it. However, I felt to horrible to stop at the one i saw. Plus, it did not look interesting. You know how that goes.

    1. Yes, it gives me anxiety to be around people now. I don't think I could handle yard sales right now, sadly.

  6. I love a good yard sale, but I need nothing and I always buy something. Still love to go.

  7. Bailey is very organized. :)

I miss going to yard sales. I see a yard sale sign or two once in a while, but I am hesitant to stop.

    Have a wonderful week, Belinda.

    1. Thank you, Nil. I understand the hesitation to stop. It just doesn't seem worth it. Sigh...

I hope you have a wonderful week too. :)
