htese are what we call hoagies-so if anyone everwondered when they saw hoagie sandwiches on myblog, this is them. I love a good hot and melty sandwich!
It's funny. They have a different name for that type of sandwich depending on where you live. I live in NY and we always called them subs or submarines. I worked on the NYS thruway, as a teenager, and the company that had the restaurant contract was Gladieux Foods, out of Ohio. They called them hoagies. I had never heard of hoagie up to that point. Other places call them grinders like you said. Tomato or tomahto, I guess!
Exactly, Cheryl. Tomato or tomahto. LOL Either way - they are delicious! You inspired me with your sandwich last week or the week before. It looked delicious.
Oh yes, I've herd them called hoagies too, Sam. Grinders is another term I've heard to describe them. I love them too!
This sounds good, plus I have some leftover sliced ham in the fridge
Thank you, Anne. I hope you enjoy them.
Thanks for the idea...I put ham and salami on my grocery list.
You're welcome, Kathy. I hope you enjoy them. :)
We really liked them. Such a nice change from regular sandwiches. Thanks! :)
Yes! We like having something different every now and then.
