WFD ~ Hamburgers

Dinner tonight was simple because I am sick with a cold today, so it will be an easy dinner of hamburgers cooked on the George Foreman grill. Simple, easy, and frugal. These two hamburgers cost me approximately $2.10 to make.

  1. Sorry you're not feeling well. I think I am fighting a cold too. Many are sick here. Ground beef is so expensive here, I often use grnd chicken or poultry instead, as it's $1.49/lb on sale vs twice as much when on sale for beef.

  2. Thank you, Carol. I hope you are feeling better as well. $1.49 a pound is a great price for ground meat. I've never tried the chicken. Is it good tasting? I am not crazy about ground turkey and so have been reluctant to try the ground chicken.

  3. Ground chicken isn't as "gamey" as ground turkey. I buy the reg. grnd chicken, rarely the ground ck breast as it is so expensive. With either chicken or turkey, they both have to be fairly heavily seasoned. Great as tacos, chilli, or seasoned burgers.

  4. I like the idea that it is not as gamey as ground turkey. I am no fan of turkey, so that helps. I may give it a try. We heard yesterday that beef prices here may go to $5 a pound, so this may be a necessary cost cutter for us in the future.
