This was a gift from my niece right after Bailey was born. Even though it has my ex’s name on it, I couldn’t part with it. We think it’s cute and put it on our tree each year. My sister bought us a new one in 2006 with just our names on it.
This red basket and the mailbox one below were made by Bailey’s grandmother who we never had the chance of meeting as she died in 1987. Even though we didn’t know her it gives us a sense of her being part of our family.
Your tree holds so many memories. That's how ours is decorated. We have a little mailbox ornament too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sam. I love the little mailbox ornament.
DeleteI love your ornaments. I love the snow family. I think it's precious as can be.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Safyne. They all hold a special place in my heart.
DeleteHow neat - love them all. Heck, that was her dad so no reason not to display it.
ReplyDeletePrecious memories.
Excellent point, Cheryl. Thank you.
DeleteLove your ornaments! What wonderful memories!
ReplyDeleteOur tree has ornaments of the places that we have been and even ornaments that the kids made in elementary school. They laugh about them now, but they always put them on the tree. :)
Thank you, Kathy. It’s something our children can look forward to every year.
DeleteHow lovely. It is so good to have family history and love on the tree each year - heartwarming.

Thank you, Joy. I agree.
DeleteOne of the hard things about being a child of divorce is that your family is no longer represented. Photos are put away. Stories are not told. Keeping the ornament is healthy for her.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy.
