Frugal Friday ~ July 5, 2019
Welcome to the Frugal Friday edition of my blog. It's been an exciting week with the launch of the blog and my daughter and I have decided to do a giveaway to celebrate the launch. Details about that will come later.
If you check my Instagram page you'll know that we went to a rummage sale on Tuesday of this week. It was the mission center in Ringgold, Georgia. They were raising money to pave their parking lot and were selling clothes for 25¢. It was definitely worth going and we picked up some great pieces of clothing.
Unfortunately, it was already so hot at 9 o'clock in the morning at the rummage sale that we were drenched when we finally got back in the car, so we went to Starbucks to cool off, drink some green tea (free refills), and take advantage of their free wifi. One time they refilled my cup with green tea & lemonade, but it was good. You know how much I enjoy lemonade.
On Wednesday I went to Fresh & Low for potatoes since I was out and they have the best price in town at 20 pounds for $4.99. I also bought a loaf of bread, watermelon for $2.88, cantaloupe for $2.19, and pork and beans for 50¢.
This week I earned $25 from MyPoints, which is easier for me to earn than it is on Swagbucks.
My daughter picked up a pair of capris at a yard sale that she thought would fit her, but turns out they fit me instead. So, I have a new to me pair of capris for myself.
This week I received several free yellow squashes and zucchini from the thrift store here. I'll be including those in our menus very soon.
We ate free cucumbers from my BIL's garden this week.
We stayed at my BIL's home on the 4th until it was dark and had to drive home in the dark and were able to see so many fireworks on our way home. It was very entertaining.
We ate all of our meals at home this week except for the one at my BILs, so no eating out this week.
How was your frugal week?

Sounds like a great frugal week Belinda. My sissie just sent me a box of clothes. 2 pairs of capris, and 4 shirts. Have not tried them on yet!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim. How neat that your sister sent you some new to you items. I hope all of them fit you well. :)
DeleteSounds like a good week. Hot here as well. It doesn't take long to be wilted!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
That's for sure, Cheryl. LOL I hope you have a great weekend too.
DeleteWe have been really hot here in Indiana too! Your 4th sounded great! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I grew up in Illinois, so we've traveled through Indiana numerous times. We always stopped in southern Indiana to get some of those great cantaloupes. They grow some of the best produce in your state. :)
