Frugal Friday 4-12-2019

This week I earned another $5.00 from Microsoft Rewards bringing my Amazon gift card balance to $15.

This week I had four days where I did not spend any money. #nospenddays

This week I was scheduled to work two days, but ended up working four days. I'm grateful as there are only around 30 or so days of school left before summer vacation starts.

I sold a book on eBay this week for $2.50 that I bought at a yard sale for 15 cents. Of course, I read it first and wrote down any recipes I wanted to try. :)

On Tuesday I filled up my car and used my Exxon rewards card to earn points. Currently I have $6 worth of points on there and I'm saving those up to use one day when I want a free tank of gas.

Today is laundry day and I already have the first of two loads washing. One way I save on laundry is having enough clothes to wear for two weeks. That way I only have to wash clothes every two weeks instead of every week and ensures I'm washing only full loads. Not using the washer every week definitely saves on the electric bill.

Hardees will be offering one free sausage biscuit to any customer who says while ordering, "Made from Scratch", April 15, 2019 from 7 to 10 a.m. I'm not scheduled to work that day, but if I am I'll be sure to stop in to get a free biscuit.

Speaking of breakfast food, one of the students gave me a free orange juice the other day at school. We also picked up two free water bottles at CVS this morning while we were picking up a prescription.

We've been out and about this morning going to yard sales until the rain started. No worries, we will be heading back out tomorrow and then I'll write up a post about it soon.

How was your week?

  2. You've had a good frugal week Belinda.

I'm glad you were able to work 4 days especially since your school days are dwindling. Do you set aside money all year to help you budget for summer? How do you manage? Hope I'm not prying I just am a nerdy bookkeeper and am endlessly fascinated by budgeting and basic household finances.
Thanks for the heads up about Hardees. We don't have one where I live but I think my sister does so I will let her know.

    1. Thank you, Debra. Yes, I do set aside money all year to help me make it thru the summer and we do other side jobs then too. One year we did the flea market, but it was HOT and I'd rather not do that again. I like budgeting and financial stuff too, so I don't th8ink it is prying at all. I hope you have a great weekend.

  4. So sad. I don't have a Hardees near me. That was sweet that the child gave you the OJ.

  5. Hi Belinda!
I ended up trying out that Getupside app I was telling you about last week. The first time you use it you get bonus cashback, so I ended up with $5.22 back. Normally the cashback is 10-15¢/gallon.
I do the Google Crossmedia Panel. I get a dollar a week for each smart phone, tablet, or computer I have connected to the panel.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. That's great, Nichole. I'll have to check both of those out. $5.22 is a nice amount to get back for the first time using it.

I hope you have a great weekend too.

  6. Another frugal week, Belinda.:)

I also do laundry every other week. Otherwise I don't have a full load. Sometimes I wash tops by hand.

    1. Thank you, Nil. It definitely pays to wait until you have a full load. I hope you are enjoying your break. :)
