Sorry you were stung but the money spent removing all the offending nest was well worth the expense.
ReplyDeleteI agree, thank you, Anne.
DeleteCookbooks look interesting. Please let us know when you try recipes from these books. I too love old cookbooks and craft books.
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry you got stung by wasps. I try to drive once a week or so for about 5 minutes to make sure everything is fine with the car.
Have a wonderful weekend, Belinda.
Thank you, Nil. You too. Good advice on driving the car once a week or so, I've been making sure to start it, so at least it will start when I get in it. :) Hope you have a good weekend too.
DeleteWasps make nests behind side mirrors even when i drive the car every day. Then at stores they come out and harass me. I hate them. When i drive it back home, they take up behind the mirror right where they left off. Hate it.
ReplyDeleteYes, they are awful!
DeleteWasps can be nasty - I'm glad you found a way of getting rid of them.

Thank you, Joy.
DeleteI won't tolerate wasps. We have a person here who comes out and essentially vacuums them up, then sells them to a pharmaceutical company for immune therapy. If we didn't, I would call an exterminator, ecosystem be damned! I love nature, but if I see a wasp, I shamelessly kill it, especially in spring, with the hopes I am destroying a queen.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter feels the same way, Meg. I love that your person is selling them. That's great.
DeleteWe have paper wasps and have to watch for them constantly. It is the itch after the sting that drives me crazy.
ReplyDeleteOh yes Kim! That can drive someone nuts. My Dad sells the paper wasps at the Flea Market. He cuts them down in the winter after they are dead and gone.
DeleteSorry to hear about your wasp encounter. I hope the sting wasn't too bad. They can be painful. The cookbook in the first picture "Money Saving Main Dishes" looks a bit familiar. My mother may have had it, or one like it, when I was growing up. Old cookbooks are the best--good recipes and fun to read.
ReplyDeleteHow neat that your Mom had that cookbook, Frances. I have one more coming this week and I'll post a photo of it as well. They are so fun to read. :)
DeleteOld cookbooks have the greatest recipes. Long forgotten recipes too. Can't wait to see what you cook from them.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bobby. I agree they have the best recipes. :)
DeleteI am so sorry to hear you have been stung Belinda. So painful for you. I am glad that you are coping well financially its a strange time we are all living in. God is good and will see us all through this.
ReplyDeleteLove the books! This is my type of reading too .
take good care of yourself
Thank you so much, Effieq. You take care of yourself too. :)
DeleteI am sorry you got a stung by a wasp. Thank gosh you were able to find the nest. We had wasps building a nest in our door frame, of all places. I had to get some wasp spray from Amazon Prime. I hate killing them but I am highly allergic. My dog got stung by a wasp this week. She kept crying out. I wiped her down with a wet cloth to find the injury. I guess she bit the wasp when it stung her and he got stuck in her fur! My DH gave her another shave and bath this week. She's back to her happy self. Her coat grows so fast.
ReplyDeleteI have been buying books off of Ebay & Amazon. I am still using my library because we have drive through service and contactless scanner to to scan our cards. The library is having so many issues trying to check the books back in and quarantine the books for two days. I don't want to overwhelm them. I was returning my books on due date but racking up late charges. The library has to wait two days to check in. Then they have to go into each account and take off the late charges manually. The poor librarians and all the extra work they have to do now. I would go check my account and I would have $5 in late charges and the next day no charges. That was a bit stressful when it first started happening, lol.
No debt to pay off. All bills paid early. I am only essential shopping. Please cross fingers for us that we get mandatory masking this week. My city hasn't started it and we were the Great Clips outbreak that proved masks are working. DH & I are thinking of going to Menards this week for a "date" night, lol. They are requiring mandatory masks. Not being political. I am high risk for Covid complications- Lupus.
Oh, I so understand your need for masks, Safyne. I am high risk too and the reason why we have stayed home, although we do wear masks when we have to go out of the house. I hope you get the mandatory masks required. They decided not to go with them in the county where I live, but they are required in Chattanooga.
ReplyDeleteThat is good that your library is quarantining the books for two days when they get them back in. Glad they are taking the late fees off. I would be stressed out about that too until they were gone.
Stay safe out there!
