This Week In My Frugal Kitchen
Here is a list of what I was planning on making for dinner this week:
1. Meatloaf
2. Soup Beans, Corn on the Cob, Cornbread
3. Tacos
4. Smoked Sausage, Cabbage & Onions,
5. Grilled Chicken
6. Cheesy Potatoes
7. Spaghetti
And here is what we actually had on the menu this week:
Sunday: Breakfast on Sunday was oatmeal with blueberries, walnuts, and some cinnamon along with some plant based milk. I also had a red grapefruit, which was bought markdown on Friday. Dinner was one of the free cabbages I picked up at the thrift store. I still have one more of those to use up, so it will be on the menu again this week.
Cabbage & Sausage, Corn on the Cob, Cucumbers, Sliced Tomatoes
Monday : Breakfast on Monday morning was fried eggs for my daughter while I had a grilled cheese sandwich. Dinner was more cabbage stir fry with sausages thrown in along with the last of the corn on the cob, cucumbers, and sliced tomatoes. Just a repeat of Sunday's dinner. Tuesday: Chicken was on the menu for today, so I took some out of the freezer to thaw. I ended up making Grilled Chicken, along with some brown rice, and steamed broccoli.

Wednesday & Thursday: I sorted and rinsed some Great Northern Beans, aka soup beans, on Tuesday evening and put them in the Instant Pot before I left home, so that they would be ready for dinner when I got home.

Friday: I took some ground beef out of the freezer to make for dinner, but wasn't exactly sure what I was going to make. My daughter said she wanted Hamburgers when I told her what I took out to thaw. On Thursday I bought some potatoes, so I decided to make French Fries to go with the hamburgers.
Cheeseburgers and French Fries.
Saturday: This was yard sale day, which always makes me tired at the end of the day. So I came home and made some Macaroni and Cheese and added a can of ham to this and served it with a salad on the side.

This was a busy week and I did not post a Frugal Friday post due to that reason. I'll try and do better this week. What's on the menu in your home?

Yum it all sounds so good. I love anything that sounds Mexican and then there is CHEESE anything. I do love me some cheese.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. I love cheese too. LOL
DeleteIt all sounds good. Meatloaf is on my list this week. I went to Hallmark on Friday and got my free card... easy peasey! Thanks again for the info.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I'm so glad you were able to get your first card! I love that. I hope you have a great week!
DeleteYou stayed really close to your plan for the week. I love sausage and cabbage. It is on our menu for this week.
ReplyDeleteAwesome, it was a family favorite so much so that I had to make it again the next day. LOL
DeleteSeems you always find a way to create tasty meals with whatever you find. Free cabbage with whatever can be the best meal of a week.
ReplyDeleteThank you, we really enjoyed that free cabbage this past week, Anna. There are so many things you can do with cabbage. We ate most of it stir fried this time.
