Great reminders. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI drink a lot of water in the summer heat. it just seems so much easier to do when you are hot and the water is really cold!
It sure is, Cheryl. Water is easier for me to drink than anything else. I like to keep mine in one of those metal double walled tumblers, so it stays good and cold for a long time.
DeleteSometimes I don't drink enough water. To remind myself now I carry a bottle of water with me. I even have a glass of water on the bedside table.
ReplyDeleteWater is my favorite beverage. :)
Mine too, Nil. I should have brought water with me to the ceremony, but I wasn't thinking that day. Next time I'll remember.
DeleteI always have a glass of water by my side (or my insulated water bottle purchased on clearance) when I am at home. I drink water all throughout the day. I also try to always carry a water bottle with me when we go out anywhere, even though heat isn't really an issue here in the PNW. I prefer my water slightly cooler than room temperature, but not cold. I cannot abide by ice water, which was how I think I was conditioned to drink it as a kid/young adult. I learned from an OB nurse that ice water is hard on the stomach, and can trigger sinus pain. From that moment I switched to room temperature water, and realized I actually enjoyed drinking it! Since then I have become a faithful water drinker. It is my beverage of choice. In fact, I feel at odds if I don't have a glass or bottle within reach.
ReplyDeleteThat's great, Meg. I had no idea ice water could do that. I can drink it either way, but I do prefer ice water when it's hot in the summer. I would love to live somewhere like you where heat is not an issue. That sounds like bliss.
DeleteWater is all we had to drink in the 50s and 60s when I grew up. We did have milk and orange juice, but only water when we were playing. Seldom did we have Koolaid, and it was such a treat. There were seven in the family. We VERY occasionally had a six pack of 6 oz cokes, and never a whole one, only a half coke...three ounces and thought we had died and gone to heaven.
ReplyDeleteAwww...that is so neat, Linda. Back when I was growing up getting McDonalds was a REAL treat for us. Nothing like it is today.
DeleteI dislike water, but drink it as a necessary evil. Although it's better since dd and her dh bought me an Aladdin tumbler. It keeps iced drinks cold for over 24 hours. I love it and I do notice I drink more water because of it.
ReplyDeleteIs that one of those metal cups, Mary Lou? If so, we have one too. It’s great for keeping drinks cold.
DeleteYes, it is. I love I can leave it on the nightstand and the water is always cold during the night.
DeleteThey are the best cups. I love that the ice will last for hours.
