Yesterday while I was at work, my daughter was busy at home with a surprise for me when I arrived. She had been working on this for over a month and she really did surprise me.
We had been sharing a table since I bought my sewing machine last summer and whenever I was done sewing I needed to put everything away in order for her to be able to use the table as well.
So, on her own she went out and bought me a table of my own and set it up yesterday while I was working. This was my birthday present from her.
She also bought my favorite flowers, hyacinths and included the tulips as well. She also stripped my bed for me and washed all my bed clothes and made the bed for me before I got home. She was a busy little bee.
The shop is empty right now, but I've been working on a few things like these dish towels made to look like little girl's dresses. Here is a photo of two that I've made. I did not make the one in the middle.
These are still in the prototype stage, but this will be my summer project this year. To work on things to sell in my Etsy shop.

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Belinda! Bailey was so thoughtful, her gifts seems spot on! SOme day, DD will move out (not happening anytime soon with her recent business purchase) and the plan is for DS to move into her room, then allowing me to take over DS's room as an office and sewing room-something I am really looking forward to. I love hanging kitchen towels, especially as I do not use paper towels in my home. I prefer the doubled over ones, they seem to last me longer in wear. They normally have knit/crocheted tops-do you do any knitting/crocheting? If not, I have seen them with cloth tops with ties or fold over, long tabs with buttons. I had to delete the first entry, as I somehow hit enter before being finished typing.
No problem, Carol. I took care of that deleted entry. Thank you for the birthday wishes. Bailey did really well with her bday presents for me this year. That is so great that someday you will have your own sewing room and office. That will be wonderful! I don't do any knitting or crochet, but would love to learn how to do that one day. I like those doubled over ones too as they will last longer than a single one for sure.
DeleteYou and one of my children have birthdays a month apart, as we discussed in past years. Happy and blessed year to you, Belinda, after Bailey's birthday surprises. How lovely and perfect. Your bargain sewing machine is providing happiness beyond my expectations. My sewing machine will celebrate its 50th year with me in August. Very happy for you.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Anna. 50 years is an amazing time to have a sewing machine. They don't make them like that anymore, unfortunately. Those older machines are in high demand for that reason. Thank you for the good birthday wishes.
DeleteFirst off I hope you have a fabulous Birthday Belinda!!
