Chick-fil-A Carrot Raisin Salad

Chick-fil-A used to serve a very good carrot raisin salad, but removed it from their menu in  2013. Since then I've made their actual recipe at home because we've always enjoyed it.

Chick-fil-A has referred to it as the salad that made an "irrational combination of ingredients delightful".

Carrot & Raisin Salad is one of our company’s original southern recipes. Prepared and served by founder Truett Cathy himself, Carrot & Raisin Salad was a menu staple for four decades.
Here is the original recipe for the Chick-fil-A Carrot Raisin Salad:

Carrot Raisin Salad

Ingredients:

4 1/2 cups fresh carrots, finely shredded
1 - 8 ounce can crushed pineapple, drained (2/3 cup)
3/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/4 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together.
Makes 13-14 servings.

Enjoy!

  1. The carrot salad brought back memories of my mom shredding carrots for carrot salad. I had forgot all about it. Thanks for sharing!

    1. You're welcome, Lisa. I have fond memories of one of the sweet ladies from church making it in her kitchen for us to eat.

  2. I was so upset when they quit making carrot raisin salad. I have plenty of carrots, so I should make some. I was told they quit making it because it was only popular in the South. Yes, I called and asked. Consequently, I quit going there as often. Maybe I will try this. How did you get the carrots shredded?

    1. You can grate them on a box grater or you can use a salad shooter, which is what I have and use.

  3. Haven't used a salad shooter for years, but wish I still had one. My food processor does good job grating, though. Carrot salad makes a pretty presentation.
