Lemon Lush, Chocolate Lush, Banana Lush

This recipe is another tried and true family favorite. This recipe was given to me by my friend Joan, who lives in the small town of Evensville, Tennessee. We used to attend church together and she gave this to me back in 1990.

Lemon Lush

Ingredients:

First Layer:
1 cup plain flour
1 stick melted margarine or butter
1/2 cup chopper nuts

Second Layer:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup cool whip
1 8 ounce package cream cheese

Third Layer:
2 & 2/3 cup milk
2 packages instant lemon pudding (2 & 3/4 ounce)

Directions:
Mix the ingredients for the first layer.
Pat out with spoon in a 13 x 9 baking pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and allow to cool.
Whip and spread the ingredients for the second layer.
Spread over the first layer.
Mix the ingredients for the third layer.
Spread over the second layer.
Top with cool whip and refrigerate.

You may also substitute chocolate pudding or vanilla pudding with bananas.

  2. Oh wow! That looks like a really nice recipe for summer. In a big pan, it sure would serve a lot of people. We have a 60th birthday for my sister that lost her husband in March-this s the kind of desert she would love more than birthday cake.

    1. Yes, this is a terrific recipe to serve multiple people. The bottom layer tastes almost like a Pecan Sandie cookie. Good recipe for summer time for sure.

  3. I think my MIL used to make something like this that was delicious. After she died a lot of her recipes were lost with her. Thank you for posting this. I will make it soon and we can remember Nana while we enjoy it.

    1. That happens often when our older family members pass away. They asked me what I wanted when they were cleaning out my grandparents home and I went for her recipe box. There are so many family favorites in there.

  4. Oh I had forgotten about lemon lush. My mom used to make it, and it was so cool and refreshing on a hot day. Thanks for the recipe and the memories.
