Second Frugal Friday February 2024
Welcome to Frugal Friday!
My Frugal Week
This week I spent several minutes each day unsubscribing from emails that want to sell me something. Some of them send multiple emails per day and I don't want to receive that many emails from any company.
We bought two dryer brushes to clean out our lint trap. I already cleaned out the dryer upstairs and used the vacuum to help clean up the lint. We will also have to take it downstairs and clean out the line leading to the outside.
We cleaned in Dad's office again last Friday and will clean in there again today. We put out another dozen or so bags for the garbage man on Saturday. I'm going to give him a really big bonus for all this extra trash.
If you're interested, Knife magazine wrote an article abut my Dad's passing and you can read it here.
We went to the class at the Samaritan Center on Tuesday with the topic being Food Safety. And we both received another $10 voucher to the thrift store. One of the things I picked up were smaller baskets with handles to corral items around the house. They were only 40 cents each and perfect for some things.
We've not done any grocery shopping this week, so no money spent there. We are simply eating what we have here at home.
Thank you for dropping by my frugal blog, you are always welcome here.
We would love to hear all about your week in the comment section.

What a lovely article about your Dad! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bobi. I thought it was really lovely too.
DeleteBelinda, that was a great article about your dad (and obituary). A good example of finding a new path and a great career after something so terrible happening. He sounded like a wonderful person. Thank you for sharing that! Cheryl H
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. I thought it was a nice article too. My Dad was someone who could make something out of anything when he put his mind to it. My bedroom furniture was made by him back in the 1980s. I'll have to take a picture of it soon.
Delete(Little Penpen) I read the article about your dad. That was a nice tribute. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you, Penny.
DeleteAnything that helps me stay organized feels like a win! Nice work this week.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I love being organized.
DeleteLovely tribute to your dad! Hope you and Bailey are doing well.
ReplyDeleteBarb
Thank you, Barb. We ae doing pretty good considering. We cleaned more in his office and workshop today and found a few other things of his we want to keep.
DeleteWhat a nice tribute for your Dad! Make sure to keep a copy for future generations. I hope that Bailey has some of his knives; they will be a treasured legacy.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good weekend. It looks like a rainy one here.
Thank you, Kathy. Yes, my Dad made a special knife for Bailey, which she treasures. He made one for all of us, and we will always treasure them. It's been raining here today too. I hope you also have a good weekend.
DeleteWhat a lovely article.
ReplyDeleteYou did really well at getting those baskets at such a great price. Perfect for corralling things around the house.
God bless.
Thank you, Jackie. Oh yes, I am loving the little baskets. I have so many of them in use already. LOL
DeleteWhat a lovely article about your dad. Sounds like a very accomplished man. I know you are proud of his legacy.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. Yes, I am very proud of him and his legacy.
DeleteWhat a beautiful tribute to your dad. That class sure is a winner! You're learning new things & getting paid. What's not to love :) Wishing you & Bailey a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes! I love that class. The pay is great. LOL Thank you about saying that was a beautiful tribute to my Dad. :)
DeleteWhat a wonderful tribute to your father. He sounds like an amazing person. There is an actual town in South West Virginia called Cripple Creek. My birthday was on Feb. 4th so we have done a lot of eating out this week which has been nice. Happy Valentines Day to you and Bailey!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bobbi. There is also a Cripple Creek, Colorado. In fact, I think we have a postcard from there. people used to give my Dad stuff about Cripple Creek and Buffalos regularly.
DeleteOh, happy birthday to you. Eating out is the best way to spend a birthday. We love to do that on our birthdays.
The article in Knife and the obituary gives a clear picture f him as a person. He sounds wonderful and a creative person, a survivor of a disfiguring accident. Daddy could make anything, too. I have those things and treasure them, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda. I love that your Dad could make anything too. That is such a wonderful trait to have in someone. 💕
DeleteYou are so lucky to have that wonderful article about your dad. Thank you for sharing it.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Anne.
DeleteBelinda ♥ I just read the Knife article. How interesting about "Cripple Creek"...thanks so much for sharing. My week was frugal as well, I didn't go out, yay! Honestly if I could, I would never leave my house. except to walk the dogs. I need some kind of intern to do my grocery shopping lol
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rain.
DeleteLOL...I hear you on the intern doing your grocery shopping for you. I could go for that for sure!
That was a great tribute to your dad, Belinda. He sounds very talented, and I know you were very proud of him and will miss him terribly. The cooking class you are taking sounds right up my alley with the thrift shop voucher being a great bonus. Meals sound delish as usual. Hope for a good week for you and Bailey.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Carol. the cooking class has been fun and the voucher is an added bonus for sure. I hope you also have a good week, Carol. Thanks again. :)
