My Frugal Week
We stopped at the Farmer's Market while we were out at yard sales on Saturday, and picked up fresh tomatoes, a head of cabbage and a watermelon, all for $15.00. I chopped up two of the tomatoes to go with dinner that night and they were delicious.
Recipe of the Week
Spiced with ginger and cinnamon, this is the perfect warm drink. Both turmeric and ginger have anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory properties, so this is also a healthy drink.

ReplyDeleteSounds delicious and full of protein too.
DeleteThis past week, I have had chicken, green beans, chopped slaw, salad, potato one day, carrots, strawberries, grapes, blueberries, bananas and apples. I get on a jag where I want more beef than I should have, then I just go back to chicken. It is my favorite, anyway.
ReplyDeleteAfter cleaning out half the freezer, I found so much cooked food that we could eat protein for a month without cooking. Plus, there is so much frozen raw meat that I don't need to look for a special for a long time.
It's so nice to be stocked up on both cooked food and raw meat, so you don't have to look for specials for a while. You did so well getting in your fruits and vegetables. Kudos to you, Linda.
DeleteI think I might have over done the meat sauce so after this nights Baked Spaghetti meal (along with one for Wednesday) I will be freezing the leftover sauce and probably a couple of slices of the Baked Spaghetti for later in the menu rotation.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Freezing the leftover sauce is a great idea that way you can have it another day. Baked spaghetti sounds delicious!
