Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits & Bisquick Substitute

Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Ingredients:

2 cups Bisquick biscuit mix

(or substitute homemade, recipe below)
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Garlic Butter Glaze:

1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix biscuit mix, milk, and cheddar cheese until soft dough forms.
Beat vigorously for 30 seconds.
Drop dough by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet or parchment lined pan.
Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
Mix melted butter, garlic powder, and dried parsley.
Brush generously over warm biscuits & serve warm.
Makes 10-12 biscuits.

Bisquick Substitute

Ingredients:

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon butter

Directions:

Sift flour into a bowl, add baking powder and salt.
Whisk until fully incorporated.
Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry cutter until evenly combined.
Shortening or oil can be used in place of the butter, if desired. If using melted butter, be sure to evenly disperse the butter as much as possible.

  2. The Red Lobster biscuits are delicious. I keep the Aldi version of Bisquick on hand all the time. Those impossible pies are a quick solution for a meal using bits and pieces of leftovers.
