Media Basket

While we were in Chattanooga pet sitting, I noticed something that our friend had in her home that I would like to have in our home.

I did a little bit on Googling and learned that this might be called a media basket, but I could not find one for sale online.

This basket hides all the cords inside and sort of out of the way. It looks a lot better than having the cords sitting on the floor.

I'm wondering if any of you know where you can find something like this?

  1. I did something like that with an old rectangular shaped storage basket from LLBean. (Think Longaberger look alike, though I'd never purchase one of those.) It had a liner, which I removed, and then I fed the cords through the handles on the end. Mine has no top, though. Perhaps you might find a picnic basket in your yard sale travels, and drill holes in the side to feed the cords through?
I have three baskets of different styles on our t.v. stand--two house all our cords, remotes, etc, and a third one holds dvd's--though we don't tend to watch many anymore, so I think the dvd's are destined for another home.

    1. That is a great idea, Meg. I will be on the lookout for baskets shaped like that as I think it looks much tidier than just laying out like they are now. Thank you.

  2. I never knew about media baskets.
A wooden box with holes drilled on the side would work too, I think.
