Saturday

Good Saturday morning to all my readers. This has been a very tiring week for me. I worked all five days and I was so tired each day with the time change. I was grateful when Friday finally got here.  :)

Springtime has arrived in southern Tennessee. Just a few photos of some things that are blooming right now.

Some other things going on here at the Frugal Workshop. I finally used up one of the boxes of plastic wrap I had here. I am down to four boxes now. I think this is a cheaper option than Ziploc bags and I have them on hand, so I will be using them up.

Food City sent me some great coupons in the mail. Make sure you are singed up by email for your local grocery stores because you never know when they will send you coupons in the mail. There is one here for $5.00 off a $25 grocery order.

I finished up a tube of toothpaste and cut the tube open to reveal more toothpaste inside. It was enough for another two days of brushing.

We enjoyed the ducks and geese at the pond behind Food City this past week.

This week we will be on Spring Break from school. My daughter is off on vacation with her surrogate grandmother. I will be relaxing at home and enjoying my time off. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

Thank you for reading,
Belinda

  1. Sometimes a good time to do some cleaning out when the children aren't around to miss it or comment. Unless you are all nicely organized. I know I feel like I never am fully organized. Have a nice week off.

    1. Thank you, Mary Lou. Cleaning and organizing is exactly what I had planned for this time off. :)

  2. Spring is here, too, along with a ton of pollen. My grandson and I were outside sweeping off the patio and cleaning the table. We could literally make a paste with the pollen.

    Enjoy your week off.

    1. Thank you, Busy Bee. :)

It is that time of the year for the pollen. I went out this morning and the windshield was covered with it. I had to wash it off with the hose.

  3. Would you like a bouquet of my daffodils? :) Mimi (deceased MIL) and I dug up her bulbs in 2007. Do you have flowers, shrubs, bushes, or whatever that others have shared? Your reddish bush/tree is lovely.

    1. Some of our daffodils came from an old homestead here that a friend gave to my Dad years ago. They have not bloomed yet, but they are definitely growing. Did you have bad storms your way yesterday? It rained all day here. I hope there are no trees down when we try to get out today.

    2. Our daffodils usually bloom late, too. Enjoying their appearing early this year.

Did have rain --- 1/4-inch. Raining off and on for about a month. Mississippi River was down 10-inches at Memphis, but it has rained more than 9-inches.

    3. Sounds like you all could use some more rain. Seems like we were always below in rainfall until the last few years and then we tended to be over in rainfall. If it would only rain at night while we were sleeping, I would be OK with that. lol

  4. Hi Belinda! While on an extended visit with my Mom, I cut open my toothpaste to get the last little bit out. It was enough for 2 days. My Mom saw me doing this and said, Wow! You REALLY are frugal. LOL Thanks to Amy Dacyczyn, "The Frugal Zealot" for teaching me this tip 20 plus years ago.
