Clearance

Checking the clearance section at Walmart the other day paid off big for me.

I found these 20 ounce bags of sliced almonds for $4.00 each

I picked up five bags and put four of them in the freezer to keep them fresh.

I also found one can of great northern beans for 25¢ and one can of pumpkin  for 50¢.

Always make sure to check the clearance section of the store you are shopping in as you never know what you may find.

Thank you for reading,

  1. Those are some fantastic bargains, Belinda! You are so right on checking the clearance bins. Some weeks I don't find anything worth buying, but other weeks, I find real deals.

You'll be able to enjoy those almonds for some time!

    1. Thanks, Lili. My experience is the same as yours.Sometimes there is not anything worth buying and other times there is a good deal.

Yes, I am going to be making some granola for sure to enjoy those almonds and of course in salads too. :)

  2. Your almonds deal is one to crow about today. More than 2 decades ago, a friend gave me one of her church cook books. From it, I "saved" a Christmas with its recipe for microwave peanut brittle. Easy peasy and pretty given in an appropriate tin or cellophane gift bag. Decades of free pecans persuaded me to prepare pralines and pecan pie gifts. Enjoy your almonds.

    1. Oh how neat, Anna. My grandparents had a pecan tree in their yard and we too enjoy free pecans for many years. Sadly they are both gone now and the tree belongs to someone else, but oh the memories sweeten with time. :)

  3. Great finds! I always check the clearance section, too. It is hit or miss on what I find, but I never know.

    1. Thank you, Busy Bee. Same here, it can be hit or miss, but like you, it pays to check. :)
