In exciting news this week, Frugal Workshop has been selected by the panelists at FeedSpot as one of the top 90 frugal blogs on the internet this year. If you’re looking for more frugal content to read I’d suggest checking out this comprehensive list.
DIY Goo Gone
This Old Baker has a recipe for homemade Goo Gone in their newsletter this week. I’ve always liked Goo Gone and keep it on hand, but I’m going to try this homemade version.
Goo Gone
Ingredients:
1 cup coconut oil, solid or melted.
1 cup baking soda
Directions:
Mix together in a small bowl until it forms a paste.
Store in a sealed jar (a half-pint mason works perfectly).
To use, scoop with a cloth and rub onto sticky residue.
Let sit for 1 to 2 minutes, then wipe clean.
1 can chili beans

Congratulations on making the top frugal list!!! I want to try your orange chicken one day...the family loves orange chicken if it's not too hot. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vickie. We really liked the orange chicken and I liked how easy it was to make.
DeleteBelinda
What a good week you had. Congrats on making the frugal list.
ReplyDeleteThank you for recipes - always useful.
Thank you, Cheryl. I hope you enjoy the recipes.
Deletewill definitely try your orange chicken idea - we love rotisserie chicken, so it sounds easy & great. My big frugal win was getting a $3700 true up match from my employer in my 401k for 2025. I just got it yesterday, and I think it has something to do with how they calculate your contributions, but I'm very happy to get it. - Hawaii Planner
ReplyDeleteThe orange chicken recipe is very simple and easy to make. That is fantastic news about your employer match! I love it!
DeleteGreat issue today. Love to hear about your yard sale finds and I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm in good health myself and am grateful. But not doing too well in the frugal department. Thanks for the blog. It's the kick I need. Best regards, Arlene
ReplyDeleteThank you, Arlene. I'm so glad to hear you are in good health! You can't beat that.
DeleteSo glad you are starting to feel better! Congratulations on being in the top frugal blogs! Thanks for the yummy recipes.Hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathy. I feel a little better every day, which helps me get back to doing the things I normally did before surgery. I hope you have a great weekend too.
DeleteDear Belinda, I am glad that you are starting to feel better, dear friend. Congratulations on making the frugal list! You deserve it, you work very hard!
ReplyDeleteYou scored really well at the yard sale!
Thank you Linda!
DeleteI'm so glad you are starting to feel better. I have one of those pumice sticks also. I use mine to get the hard ring of lime scale out of the toilet. It works great. Actually, you don't really need to buy the name brand stick. I've used a cheap pumice stone that I bought at Dollar General, the kind that you use on your feel, and it did great! I was worried that it was going to scratch the porcelain in the toilet bowl, but it didn't scratch it at all. On Wednesday here near Richmond, the temp was 89. On Thursday, we had pouring rain, sleet, thunder and about an inch of snow with almost a 60 degree drop in temperature! Crazy weather! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bobbi. Oh, thank you for the tip on the pumice stone at Dollar General. I will be sure to look for it there. I worried about the same thing in the toilet, about it scratching the porcelain. I'm glad to hear it doesn't do that, thank you.
DeleteWow, already 89 degree there, that is HOT and then snow and thunder, this is crazy weather!! It was so cold here yesterday I had to wear layers. LOL
Well done making the Frugal Blog List!
ReplyDeleteI am happy you are feeling better and hope your next visit will find you without restrictions and back to normal.
The weather is nuts right now here too. I woke yesterday, put on shorts to putter around the house, walked out to sweep the porch and froze. I had no idea the change was so drastic from the night before when we had to turn on the a/c.
Thank you, Anne. Oh yes, the change overnight was drastic! I wore layers most of the day.
DeleteBelinda
Wow!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the success of your blog!
I like to use diatomaceous earth for cleaning. It's similar to ground pumice.
Best regards, Sibylle
Thank you, Sibylle. I'll have to try the diatomaceous earth for this too as we have some on hand. My daughter Bailey uses it in her plants.
