The first thing I found was this set of cubby drawers, which I placed next to my sewing area and will be perfect for sewing supplies. I’ve had them piled on my desk until I could find something to corral them into and this is perfect. One of the handles is missing, which can easily be replaced. It was just $2.00 and just what I needed.

My goodness you got some great deals at the sales. That is fantastic. We never pay sales tax on actual edible groceries in IN. It is always amazing to me how different states in close proximity are. Hope you both have a great weekend and stay cool.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cheryl. You’re very fortunate to not pay sales tax on food. It used to be close to 10% here, but they changed that a few years ago. I hope you have a great weekend too.
DeleteIf I'm not mistaken, I don't think TN has a state income tax for regular income, so I guess they depend on sales taxes for revenue. Unfortunately, here in NC, we have both income tax and sales tax on food. The rate for food is only 2%, though; regular sales tax is 6.75% in my county.
DeleteYou are correct, Carol. There is no state income tax here, so they make up for it in other ways like sales taxes. Your sales tax on food is nice and low. That is so great.

DeleteWell done yard saling! I may buzz later and tomorrow morning. The laundry bags are a great find. I need one to get all the various balls in order here. Currently in a large trash bag.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to any yard sales I hope you find lots of treasures. The laundry bags would be good for that. They used them in the gym where I subbed for balls.
DeleteLove the coat rack! And goodness, for 50 cents! Great find on the chicken coop also. I guess you got hens in your future!
ReplyDeleteKathy in Virginia
Thank you, Kathy. We were tickled with the price of the coat rack. Yes, we want to get chickens again but may wait until the fall when it is cooler. π
DeleteI have a similar coop which we used briefly to introduce new chicks to the flock. A bit of advice--stake it. One morning after a windy night, I looked out to see it had blown over. Thankfully, it was empty, because by that time, the chickens had been moved to the other coop.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, Meg. Thank you for the advice. We will certainly do that before putting chickens in there. π π
DeleteThe cheapest way to do this is to buy about 8 tent stakes, (they're $0.98/each at our local hardware store) and pound them in with about 3" showing, around the edge of the coop, so when the wind blows, the stakes brace the coop. The SAFEST thing to do is fashion what's called a "predator apron." This is a line of something like bricks or paving stones around the base of the coop. This is what we have done on our large coop. (Friend gave us the paving stones for the cost of hauling them out of her yard.) The predator apron not only holds the coop stable, but it acts to keep the digging predators out. It also keeps smaller birds out as well.
DeleteACK!!! Meant to say: the tent stakes have to be on the INSIDE and OUTSIDE edges of the coop to work.
DeleteThank you, Meg. We have a really big chicken pen that has the predator rocks, but it’s just too much trouble for us to deal with at this time. This smaller coop will be perfect I think. Thank you for all your good tips on the stakes. I appreciate them and will put them into use when the time comes.
DeleteWhat great great finds! I bet you are so happy finding things you need. That coop is so nice. I love your hint on the bags...I just see laundry bags but that is such a good idea for the table cloths.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Vickie. We used to carry our cat in a laundry bag like that before pet carriers became so popular. There are all sorts of uses for them.
DeleteWOw, I would love to yard sale with you. You have the magic. Have a great week my friend.
ReplyDeleteThat would be so much fun Kim! I love to yard sale. π
DeleteLaundry bags are great to put fruit and vegetables in when shopping as it negates the use for plastic. I do put down a sale paper in the buggy to keep the food from contacting whoknowswhat in the bottom or basket of the cart. Great finds and so cheap!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is a great idea. Thank you. π
DeleteYou found some great deals! Your taco stacks sound delicious!
ReplyDeleteThank you, we love anything Mexican. π
DeleteWhat great deals you found. I especially love the deal on the Young Living Oils, that is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Thank you, Jackie.
