My Frugal Week ~

This week I was able to work four days and brought lunch and drinks all four days. I made egg salad over the weekend and took those for sandwiches this week.

Payday came this week and again my check was shorted. ::sigh:: I've already texted the school secretary and she will look into it when we go back to school on Tuesday.

In My Frugal Kitchen:

We went to the bread outlet in Chattanooga this week and found 12 pack of hamburger buns for 50¢, which was a great deal.

We also went to Food City to pick up their 5 meat items for $14.99 deal.

On Tuesday Bailey found two hams on markdown at 50% off at Aldi. She also picked up some red grapes and onions.

Tuesday is our family movie night and we normally eat dinner while we watch a movie. This week we watched the film, Searching, which tells the story through the computer screen. It kept my attention the whole time.

On Thursday we went to do some grocery shopping and stopped in at Chick-Fil-A to get in on their free 8 piece chicken nugget. It's a freebie on their app available to anyone who has a Chick-Fil-A in their area.

Somehow I got a slow leak in a tire this week. I took it to the place where I bought my tires and they found a small screw in it. They fixed it for me and didn't charge me anything for the repair.

I hope you all have had a good frugal week.

  1. My goodness what a deal on the buns. Good catch on the hams!! I have never seen those meat deals here 5/14.99. That would be great.
Sorry your check got shorted again. Hope they take of it quickly.
    Have a good one.

  2. I can imagine how frustrating the short paychecks have been-happens regularly to my husband when s deal is missed. Sure it gets corrected, but that doesn't help the week the funds aren't there. We had a frugal, quiet movie night last night. It was peaceful.

    1. Thank you, Sam. Yes, they are frustrating as I have to wait another month before I get paid. Your movie night sounds nice. I love nights like that.

  3. Shorted paychecks are the worst and it seems to run in streaks.I would love to find a good deal on a couple of hams (not my children)

  6. A regional chain here called Boyer's has those meat deals-usuallu a reg. meat deal as well as a deli/lunch meat one. Redner's use to to them too put they don't have a store near us anymore.
A got a local newspaper while traveling through TN and it had a Food City ad in it and I thought of you! lol

  7. I think that deal is 5/$19.99 at stores around here, not a good deal.

    1. That is the normal price here too, which I don't purchase. But when it goes on sale fro $14.99 I try and go then.

  8. It's always nice to hear from you. I'm taking vacation time this week to paint my kitchen. Really, it's a lot more relaxing to be at home than to go on a trip for my vacation.

  10. So sorry about the short check. It does not help with the budget planning!
Great news about the tire being repairable instead of having to buy a new one.
