Oh, man. How frustrating to show up at work & not be needed! I'm trying to get myself (emotionally) ready to go back to work, after so much freedom & flexibility & productivity this summer. It's going to be hard!
ReplyDeleteI like your lunch bag.
Exactly! And I didn't even mention the gas I wasted on the 26 mile round trip. Ugh. It was frustrating. I know how you feel emotionally to go back to work. It's all in the mindset. I had a trial run yesterday, lol.
DeleteThanks, the lunch bag is nice and roomy and I like that. I hope you have a great weekend.
It definitely pays to let customer service know of problems. Good job.
ReplyDeleteBummer on showing up to work that day.
Have a good weekend.
Thank you, Cheryl. :)
DeleteGood wins this week-except the wasted gas and time. Sorry for that! I'm currently using my sons old lunch bag -over 15 year sold, with a couple cooler packs. It works so great for avoiding take out and expensive stuff and the gross refrigerators at work!
ReplyDeleteMy lunch used to get stolen out of the refrigerator at work, so lesson learned there. That's great to have a lunch box 15 years old, that sounds like a great one, Sam.
DeleteForty or more years ago, I went in to sub and a race riot broke out. The principal told me to go home and told the secretary to pay me anyway for getting up and showering. I had a one- and three year old, so it took a lot to get there. At least I got paid, but it was so nerve-wracking to be there.
ReplyDeleteWhat is in your sub bag?
Oh my goodness that sounds awful. It's so great that they paid you anyway.
DeleteMy sub bag includes my planner, notebook paper, erasers and pencils for students who are out, ibuprofen and pesto bismal if I get sick, paper towels or cloth towels for if I need them. a tiny fan, erasers, an extension cord, a book I'm reading, and other items like that.
Fannie flaggs, the honk and holler coming soon is a great book too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the heads up, Nichole. I'll be sure to check it out too.
DeleteThat would be a pain to show up and not be needed after all you go through to be ready for work. Oh well these things do happen.
ReplyDeleteYes, they do, Kim. Thank you for the support. :)
DeleteI'm sorry.

Thank you, Rue. :)
DeleteSome companies have really good customer service.
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry you were not needed on the first day of work. 26 miles is a long way to drive just to learn that. Don’t they call and confirm a day or two in advance?
Seeing your lunch bag reminded me that I need to repair mine, it has a rip in one corner. I’m going back to work next week.
Have a great weekend, Belinda.
No they don't call, but I will text the day before to from now on to make sure he needs me. Good plan to repair yours in preparation for next week. I hope your school year is a great one and you also have a good weekend. Summer was fun while it lasted. LOL :)
DeleteSummer is every day for me. Do not miss teaching, but I did miss it for years. Enjoyed entertaining my own kiddos and their friends, who came requesting cakes, cookies, meals, and on and on. Have a great school year, Belinda.
DeleteYour connecting with companies to correct their wrongs is amazing.

Thank you, Anna. I appreciate that. I do miss the students during the summer months. I received several hugs on Thursday, so that was nice.
DeleteI just requested a Fannie Flagg book from the library "Can't Wait to Get to Heaven." I haven't read any of her books before so looking forward to it. I often listen to podcasts (yours included!) and audio books while in the car. It makes the time pass by more quickly.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about your wasted trip to school! Have a great weekend.
Thank you, DLL. That FF book sounds like another good one too.Thank you so much for listening to my podcast. That means a lot to me and I appreciate it. I hope you have a great weekend too.
DeleteTo me the most difficult part of the day is getting ready and getting to wherever I am supposed to be. If I got there and it was cancelled I would not be terribly happy. Sorry you had it happen.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Anne. Thank you. It was disheartening.
