Yard Sale Saturday

This week there were five neighborhood community yard sales this week, so we made sure to wake up early and head out.

The weather was perfect for yard sales. It was 65 degrees for most of the morning and the high only got up to 80 degrees. I am loving this cooler fall weather.

Friday night after worked I cooked and packed our breakfast and lunches. That way we were ready to head out the door as soon as possible Saturday morning.

This week I picked up several items for myself.

First off was this shelf for $3.00.

Napkins & Table Covers $2.00

GE Double Burner Hot Plate $10

Big & Beautiful Cloth Napkins 25¢ each

See how much bigger they are than a normal sized cloth napkin? I love them.

Two more cloth napkins 25¢ each. I love these 100% cotton ones and replace any of mine that aren't made of this absorbent material.

Four wash clothes 25¢ each. These will replace some of ours that are getting worn out.

We were able to pick up multiple free items this week though.

At the end of the day we happened across a church yard sale and two different sellers had a section of free items.

We went through the piles and picked out several things.

All of these Items were Free

Drying Rack

I never thought I would find a free drying rack, but it was the end of the day and the lady was hot and tired and just wanted to get rid of stuff. The price tag she had on this was $7.50, but she just gave it to us.

Please excuse the mess in the background. We were unloading the car from yard sales and had all the bags here.

Rubbermaid Container

American Eagle Outfitters Clutch

A pair of American Eagle jeans.

It was a great day for yard sales. We even ended up going back out on Sunday to one yard sale as the lady running it was going to sell everything at a reduced rate and she had great items.

I didn't buy anything, but my daughter loaded up and got some great deals for her reselling business.

Did you venture out to any yard sales? Let me know if you did in the comment section. I would love to hear about it.

  2. Wow, you got a lot of great stuff! I did hit a church yard sale on Friday evening (they had different hours this time), but I missed the morning Friday and Saturday sales due to my days being jammed full. We'll see if there are any this week (although I have a doctor's appointment Friday afternoon, so who knows if I'll feel like going before then). I'm envious of your storage container and drying rack, those are two things I would've grabbed as well! I've never seen either of those at sales around here. :)

    1. Thank you, Stephanie. Drying racks are very rare to find at yard sales around here too. I hope you get to go this weekend and find lots of goodies!

  3. Nice finds! I am still in getting rid of stuff mode, rather than accumulating any more. I have decided other than food and clothes there is nothing I need, and nothing I really want.

    1. Thank you, Anne. Good for you for not buying items you don't need. I have days like that too where I just don't find anything that I need. It is fun though to find something I need. LOL

  4. We had a yard sale for my mother in law as she is downsizing and moving next month. All the big furniture she had pre sold mostly to friends. So even with the smaller stuff she made 530.00 in one day. We took over a few things and made 105.00. Weather was nice and everyone was in a shopping mood. My husband will help her again this Saturday as I will be Arizona with my mom visiting a Cousin and her family that I haven't seen since I was a young girl. Take care!

I didn't go to yard sales for sometime now. Maybe next week. :)

  6. The drying rack is huge and quite a find. Wash cloths, clutch, and shelf appear to be new. I would have grabbed all the free jeans to up-cycle. Great yard sales. Cool weather for you? 89-90 for me.

  8. Everything you bought was at a great price and something I would have bought or taken for free. Well, the jeans not so much. I have told myself all summer that I was going to at least one yard sale on each Saturday. I have not felt well or it has rained or I had another commitment! So, this Saturday will be the day...lol.
