First Frugal Friday of November 2024

 Welcome to Frugal Friday!

My Frugal Week

We went to Joann Fabrics last week to pick up a few things and to use our 60% off coupon. I was surprised at some of the prices on things like Batting and Mod Podge. Seems like crafting has become a rather expensive hobby like many other things in this economy.

I’ll be making some large casserole hot pads for Christmas presents and I want to make sure I have enough supplies on hand. The last time I gave them out for Christmas they were a huge hit.

This will be a short Frugal Friday post as I have a doctor appointment this morning. I’ve stayed home all week working on projects here and keeping the house running smoothly.

I perused the grocery store sale ads online not finding anything to write home about.

How was your week?

Thank you for dropping by my frugal blog, you are always welcome here.

We would love to hear all about your week in the comment section.

  1. Look forward to seeing your hot pads. Great idea.

  2. Your Christmas gifts sound nice! My only real win was selling a watch on eBay that I bought in Japan last year. I'm happy it's out of the house. Otherwise, the boring usual of line drying clothes, eating leftovers & trying not to spend unnecessarily. (Hawaii Planner)

  4. Love your large casserole hot pad! So great for lasagna and such. Let us know if you put more in your Etsy shop; they make great gifts.
Hope your Dr appt goes well and that you have a great weekend.
I mostly cherry picked sales at the stores. I bought a beef roast for $4.49/lb at Food Lion which is the lowest I have seen in a long time. Food City had ground beef for $2.99/lb and 10 lb potatoes for $3.99 which is good for our area.

    1. I will definitely let you know, Kathy. We love ours and use it regularly. I saw the sale at Food City on ground beef and thought that was a good price too. I need to get some for sure.

  5. If your Joann has curbside pickup, order something online before you go. I usually order something I need (last time I got a tube of Shoe Goo for 50% off.) You can use an online coupon and when you pick up your order, you usually get another coupon for same day use in the store. I do this every time I go to score extra savings. I want to see those hot pads too!
