This is an idea created by Dollar Tree Dinners.

Thanksgiving Dinner In a Bag: Cost $7.25

This lady made Thanksgiving Dinner for under $10.00, and bought all the ingredients at the Dollar Tree.

This is what the meal includes:
Two cans of canned turkey
One can of green beans
1 package of Turkey Gravy
1 package of Stuffing Mix
1 package of Instant Potatoes
Total cost $7.25 plus tax, if that is applicable in your state.

Some people are putting all the items in a gallon size Ziplock bag and donating them to their local food banks or Little Free Pantries.

Now, I realize this is not a perfect meal and is high in sodium. But, this is one small way we can help our fellow neighbors when many of them are struggling.

  1. She has so many great ideas. Granted it isn't the healthiest but when you are hungry you need food.

  3. Well I think that is just the sweetest idea!
A local church has a blessing box, and they were asking for some boxes of those banquet homestyle bakes. Yeah not the healthiest thing but some people might not be able to afford a turkey or even be able to cook one.

    1. I thought that was a sweet idea too, Kathy. Very true about the Homestyle Bakes, some people would be very grateful for those. :)

  4. I would add a can of sweet potatoes, would still be less than 10.00 total.

  6. I love watching her. Last year she did a series on various ways to have Thanksgiving dinner. She compared TV dinners. My Nextdoor Neighbor is a cranky LOM (little old man) and we had a conversation about her findings.

    1. Awwww....how sweet, Amy. She has some terrific ideas that I never even thought of before. In this one I like how she combined the turkey with the gravy packet and made it like a meat sauce. It looks delicious in the video.

    2. He says his favorite is the Stoffers one and he just adds corn. Yes, I have taken him over food, but he is "a picky eater." I like he would rather just have my company.
