Menu Plan Monday ~ Saving Money in My Frugal Kitchen ~ Third Week of June 2026

Welcome to Frugal Workshop where every Monday I share the simple strategies used to save money in my kitchen over the past week, along with the meals that made it to our dinner table. You'll find practical tips on how we saved money on food hopefully to inspire your own meal planning using the foods you have in your own pantry.

My Frugal Week

We bought watermelon, cantaloupe, and red peppers at a farm stand this weekend when we were out shopping the yard sales. I cut them all up and composted all the rinds and seeds in a new compost pile I started in the woods. I’m hoping no wild animals get in there and devour anything.

What’s for Dinner

Monday ~ Polish Kielbasa, Salad with Fresh Vegetables.

Tuesday ~ Chicken Sandwiches, Sweet Potato Fries.

Wednesday ~ Chicken Burrito Bowls

Thursday~ Polo Loco Chicken, Cole Slaw, and Cantaloupe.

Friday ~ Queso Fajita Chicken Nachos

Saturday ~ Queso Chicken Tacos, Corn, Cucumbers, Red & Yellow Peppers.

Sunday ~ Grilled Chicken, Brussel Sprouts, Corn, Cucumbers, and red Peppers.

What’s been on the menu in your home this past week?

Did you build up or organize your pantry this week?
How are you managing food prices?
We would love to hear all about it in the comment section.

  1. Managing prices by just buying sale irems, loss leaders, and basics for groceries. Still, other life stuff is on the rise too and no ideas where to save there. Ill have to reduce goal/ fun spending to stay on budget so looking to change both.

  3. Your menu sounds just delish.
I manage by just buying sale and clearance items - the rest is from the deep pantry.

  4. Sounds tasty! I'm wanting Mexican this week now, yum on the queso.
I try to buy in season sale items, and I bought watermelon and cantaloupe last week. Fresh fruit and veggies are the best!

  5. Dear Belinda, your Tuesday meal sounds scrumptious, dear friend. 😋
I hope you have a great week ahead. 💓
Thank you so much for your tip in your comment on my blog today. 😊 I did not know how to find the names of plants and flowers in my photos.
Fortunately my readers and friends know for the most part, but I appreciate the tip you gave me and I will try this.

  6. I am still stretching all that I can. I pulled chili from the freezer and when I figured out there was not quite enough for another meal for Harvey and I. Stretching occurred by adding some of a can of cooked lentils to it. Working on organizing various areas of the house and soon will be starting on the pantries.

    God bless.
