This is me in my hot pink compression socks helping to clear up the brush, so Bailey could get to book club on time.
Last Sunday we had a relator come and look at the house, Spectrum came and installed fiber internet, and I was expecting my neighbor to come and help with the tree, but then it started to rain again, so that had to wait. Instead I measured and packaged over fifty items for Bailey's online shops.
One day I was walking in the yard picking up fallen tree branches and throwing them into the woods when I picked up one and this snake was hiding under it. This is a small, harmless gray snake, but I won't be doing this again until the cold winter weather comes again because we have poisonous snakes here too.
Then they had cans of pasta sauce priced at 25 cents each or four for $1.00, or twelve for $2.00, so after the 50% off, so I bought 24 cans for $2.00. I love finding new sources of inexpensive food for our pantry.
I bought these boots in my size there for $5.00. They were marked $20, but everything was 50% off, but when I went to pay them for them she said she was only going to charge me $5.00, which was great!
We had the best time! I think my favorite spot was the butterfly garden and I even had a big butterfly land on me there. It was so neat.

Oh wow on the storms and trees across your driveway. So glad you have good neighbors and friends to help!! Love your pink socks, and I'm glad Bailey made it to book club. We were eating supper at the campground last Saturday when a big branch fell down at a campsite across from us. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I spent some time looking above me to see if we had any dead trees around.
ReplyDeleteSorry the realtor made a low ball offer. Sadly, I think some people try to take advantage of us, but I"m glad you all said no. What great deals on the broth and pasta sauce and boots.
What fun at the aquarium! Bailey looks so cute, and I love her tie dye shirt. Aren't those butterfly habitats fun! We have a safari park where you drive thru and some of the animals come to the car for the bucket of food. My favorite spot there was the budgie habitat when the birds fly around and sit on your hand. Nature is so beautiful, although I could do without the snakes.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend.
Me too, Kathy. We have good neighbors and you can't beat that. Yikes on the branch falling down at the campground! I'm glad no one was hurt either. You are smart to look for those dread trees and branches. You just never know when one can fall and wreak havoc.
DeleteBailey made that tie die shirt! That is another one of her side hustles.
The butterfly habitat was so much fun. I would love to spend all day there. LOL
I would like to do one of those drive through safari parks too. And, I would love it if a bird came and sat on my hand! I love it when a hummingbird hovers close to me. I could do without the snakes here too, yuck~! LOL
I hope you have a wonderful weekend too!
Oh my goodness, the poor woman who was living in a retirement home & her son lost all of her savings. That is so sad. I think maybe it's best that the son was passed by the time she found out? I can't imagine living with that & trying to reconcile my feelings around the entire situation. I'm glad she's found a safe place to land with other family. ReplyDeleteYes, it was awful for her to lose her savings like that.
DeleteThank you so much, it is a work in progress.
Dear Belinda, I am so sorry about the storms and the fallen trees 🌳 on your driveway. Thankfully you have good friends and neighbours to help.
ReplyDeleteYou did so well once again at finding ways to economize as well as a couple of freebies.
Thank you so much for sharing, and I hope you and Bailey have a lovely weekend, dear friend.
Thank you, Linda. I hope you have a lovely weekend too.

You have had quite an exciting week with the trees falling down and you finding a snake. What a blessing to have such good neighbors! I LOVE the YouTube channel Rolling into Retirement. Grandma Joan makes me smile and she is very good at saving money too. You got some really great deals at the new thrift store. I wish we had better thrift stores but the nearest one to me is Goodwill and their prices have gotten outrageous. We got over 6 inches of much needed rain here this past week, but it's finally stopped and this next week is going to be in the 70's which I love. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bobbi. I’m happy to hear you like Grandma Joan too. We are in total agreement over Goodwill prices. Their clothes are priced way too high for something that is donated to them. I’m happy to hear you got some much needed rain and hope you have a great weekend too.

So much work on fallen trees. Im sorry the realtor liw called your offer. I'm thinking I need to add up a true estimate of all the replacements needed in this house to get a decent market price and net after sellers costs, compared to one of those sell as is. So far the unrequested offer was at least 20% less than what a turnkey house would be, but with basic updates, I'd still net 10% more than his offer. But, my estimates could be way off.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sam. You’re smart to get a true estimate now rather than wait. I’m thinking along those lines too.
DeleteI love following for your frugal ways. Thanks.
