We spent Monday afternoon at my BIL's home where he served ham, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, beans and rolls for dinner. We stayed about four hours there and had the best time!
We came home and had a few finger foods on Monday night and then Tuesday we woke up and opened presents at a leisurely pace.
We made the ham for dinner and decided to eat finger foods with it this year. Even though I bought ingredients to make a big dinner, we decided against that this year. We have the rest of the week to make those things.
We did what we wanted to do and ate what we wanted to eat without any expectations and we had the best time. We played new board games and watched movies. I love keeping Christmas simple and really enjoyed it.
How was your Christmas if you celebrated? I would love to hear all about it in the comment section.
Simple is the best! It is the memories ad the people not the stuff. Our day was pretty quiet too. I did go to my brothers for a couple hours to see his kids and grands. Then home a a nice dinner for the 2 of us and Christmas movies!
Your Christmas sounds fabulous! We spent a couple of days with my parents, sister, nephews. And, a couple of aunts, uncles & cousins stopped by throughout the festivities. We have a few great traditions. My dad always takes the kids mountain biking on Christmas Eve day, we do a sock exchange, this year we added the saran wrap game. We wake up & the kids open up a few gifts on Christmas morning (it's very minimal, maybe 5 gifts total, from my parents, sister, etc). Then we have brunch. The adults usually go for a walk, & my dad takes the boys mountain biking again (weather permitting). We wrap up with a holiday beer tasting, soup, salads & treats. This year, my kids asked if they could stay over a couple of extra nights with my parents, so they are enjoying the time with their grandparents, & we are enjoying a bonus kid free day.
Oh, how neat...your holiday sounds so fun. I would love to do a sock exchange. I'll have to remember that one for net yar. Enjoy your bonus kid free day!!
Glad you had a lovely Christmas. We did minimal decorating, had a big brunch with a few family members and really enjoyed it too. Next year the granddaughter is supposed to be here and if they come I will have a blowout Christmas, but for smaller kidless numbers simple really is better

I agree completely, Cheryl. It's the people and not the stuff. Your day sounds simple and fun too. I love it. :)
