Uses simple ingredients; no meat (though some fish recipes), very cost effective. Does tend to use lots of dairy (milk, cream, cheese). I would love to hear any other recommendations you have on the Mennonite books. :)Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17486895127003368291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225169024525576477.post-76259209708740256092012-08-03T09:11:52.361-04:002012-08-03T09:11:52.361-04:00Hi Belinda,

I'll check out the rest of your reading list. Maybe our library has a couple of them, or can get them for me. Thanks!Lilihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13292553654219380455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225169024525576477.post-24427152643119793032012-08-03T08:58:45.572-04:002012-08-03T08:58:45.572-04:00Thank you, Carol. I also love reading a recipe and finding that I have all the ingredients on hand to make a dish. And I agree, those books about using up leftovers have some good ideas that I hadn't thought of before.Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17486895127003368291noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-225169024525576477.post-22832572030021035122012-08-03T08:12:08.812-04:002012-08-03T08:12:08.812-04:00Belinda,

Although I consider myself a pretty accomplished cook, there are times when I need an idea boost and if there is a food item that needs to be used up, that book really helps me to accomplish that goal, sometimes it's just suggesting a recipe that I hadn't thought of!<br />Nice post, thanks also for the additional book recommendations. I'll have to see if I can get them thru my library.CTMOMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04825780992878036362noreply@blogger.com
